Sanitary Valves – Business Overview
Definition
Sanitary valves are purpose-built components that meet pharmaceutical-grade (GMP) or food-grade (3-A, FDA) hygiene standards. All wetted surfaces are mirror-polished stainless steel (Ra ≤ 1.6 µm) to eliminate physical and chemical hazards. They are used where the highest cleanliness is mandatory—food processing, pharmaceutical production, hospital cleanrooms, biotech fermentation, etc.

Sanitary vs. Industrial Valves
Sanitary valves are engineered for sterile, corrosion-free, easy-clean operation. Industrial valves prioritize pressure/temperature ratings over surface finish and are used in petrochemical, power, metallurgy and general process industries. Only qualified sanitary-valve manufacturers may produce these products; non-compliant materials (e.g., residual lead) pose serious health risks. Buyers should source exclusively from certified sanitary-valve suppliers and avoid counterfeit goods.
